The Marfa Studio will be a graduate level off campus design-build studio program located in Marfa Texas and part of the Huckabee College of Architecture at Texas Tech University. The genesis of the program was inspired by the world renowned Rural Studio program at Auburn University. The Marfa Studio’s primary focus will be to identify, conceptualize, design and build community based projects for the residents of Far West Texas much in the same way that Auburn’s Rural Studio done for many years for the residents rural Alabama. The Marfa Studio’s core mission will be to educate and cultivate students who are both local architects and citizens of the world.
